I have a very big family here in College Station and Mexico. My mom and dad moved here to College Station about 20 years ago. They always tell me the story about how they got here and it always sounds like they struggled. But luckily they made it here safe and sound. The person who helped them get here is a very good friend who is always there for us when we need them. Back in Mexico my family is even bigger than what it is here. In Mexico I have like 10 aunts and uncles which is a lot. I think that is what makes my family unique, we are a big loving Mexican family who are in different places of the world. I have family in California, here in Texas, and many more other places. If it were not for my parents coming here when they were recently married I would not be who I am, my sisters would not be who they are. My family affected my personality in the best way possible. They have made me the fun, spontaneous, loving 10th grader I am. My mom and dad are the true defintion of what parents should be. Always putting their kids first no matter what. Their story of how they got here to the United States is a story everyone should here because it will inspire and show people that anything is possible.

Blog Post #7 ~ Gratitude
Gratitude, thankfulness, gratefulness, or appreciation is a feeling or attitude in acknowledgement of a benefit that one has received or will receive. We have so many things to be thankful for like friends, family, a nice house, or even food but sometimes we forget how lucky we are to have all of these things.
I am thankful for my family because they are always there for me through thick and thin. Family to me is the most important thing a person needs and can have. Without my wonderful, amazing, dysfunctional, Mexican family I would not be who I am and where I am with grades, sports, and life. To me they are everything and I would not trade them for the world. They make me feel proud of my culture and who I am.
I am also really thankful and grateful for my good health. I am thankful that I am alive, breathing in and out. That my systems are functioning because many people around the world are fighting to survive with their health conditions. I am thankful that I am healthy enough to play the sport I love, soccer. The amount of gratitude for my health will always be beyond measure.
Last but not least I am thankful for soccer. Without soccer I do not think I would be in shape. Soccer has allowed me to meet new people and make amazing friendships. Without soccer I would not have met my two besties Amberly and Hannah. I am grateful for soccer because without it we would not have Cristiano, Messi, Dybala, Lozano, Mbappe and many more. I am very thankful for the creation of this sport and all of the amazing players who play it.
Blog Post #6 ~ Let’s Talk Music
My favorite artist of all time is Shawn Mendes. I love Shawn Mendes because he is just an amazing, humble, caring person and artist who really truly thinks about the little things in life. His music has touched people from all over the world. Its incredible how young he was when he started getting noticed for his music and how fast he has sky rocketed ever since his vine days. My favorite song of his is Never Be Alone it was released back in 2015. If you listen to the song you will understand why many fans love it so much. The lyrics have this special meaning behind them and the way he sings it makes the song unique from all the other songs he has written. I have seen Shawn Mendes live in concert. I saw him in concert July 2017 at the Toyota Center in Houston for his Illuminate World Tour. It was such an amazing experience I will forever be grateful for. To this day I still have post-concert depression. Hearing the songs live for the first time is an out of body experience I cant explain. You can really hear his passion when he is singing which is cool and just seeing him for the first time when he is 8 rows away from you is something I cant really explain. I first heard of Shawn Mendes November of 2015. Him and Camila Cabello had just released their song I Know What You Did Last Summer and ever since I fell in love with his music. Shawn Mendes is just overall the best artist anyone can listen to and I recommend listening to his new album Shawn Mendes The Album.

Blog Post #5 ~ Candidate Characteristics
The type of person I would vote for is simple and has the same or similar views as me. The candidate I’m looking for is equal with anyone no matter race, skin color or religion. This person better be educated in how to be a president and know what they are doing in office. They need to have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to the public. Communication also includes listening skills and the ability to give the people what they want and providing good and positive feedback. Being a president is not easy especially in times of crisis that is why they should have good crisis management skills. Not everyone is going to agree with a candidate or have the same views as them so they should have the courage to make unpopular decisions. Making unpopular decisions is something everyone needs to do at times and a candidate should not be afraid to do so. Last but not least is that they should have character and integrity. The way this candidate shows their character and integrity will effect them in either a positive or negative way. I would personally want the person running to be a woman because girl power! but if the candidate meets my expectations and needs then I would definitely vote for them.
Blog Post #4 ~ Your Favorite Movie
My favorite movie of all time is Coco. I enjoy this movie because it makes me cry, it is in Spanish and it is about Mexican tradition. Coco has special memories for me because my family and I celebrate the Day of the Dead. The movie is something my family and I relate to because we are a very close family just like Miguel’s family, the main character. Coco inspired me to follow my dreams. Even though Miguel did not have the support of his family that he wanted, he still went for his dream no matter what. This movie changed the way I think about people changing. For example, Mama Imelda one of Miguel’s relatives from the dead did not like music at all. Throughout the movie, she starts to warm up to the idea of music and eventually changes her opinion on music and ends up loving it. This showed me that people can change you just have to give it time. Coco makes me feel all the feelings anyone can feel. It made me feel mad, sad, happy, excited and many more feelings. I especially love the movie because it made me cry. It is an odd reason to like a movie because it made me cry but I like it because it’s a good cry. Coco is an amazing movie and will be special to my family and I because it truly shows our Mexican culture.

Blog Post #3 ~ Our Town Connection
Many people take the little things in life for granted and I am one of them. Growing up my mom would always tell me to not take things for granted but I usually never listened or just let it go. One day I was hit with the tragic passing of my grandma and everything that my mom once told me finally started to set in. I sadly learned the hard way to never take for granted the love and the family that you have because all of that could be gone in the blink of an eye. I remember listening to my mom on the phone with our relatives from Mexico talking about what they all wish they could have done differently and what they all wish they could have said to my grandma. That is when I realized that I should never take the love of a family member for granted or my family for granted. Another thing that most of us take for granted is that we wake up breathing. When our alarm starts going off in the morning we cannot help but think about all of the tasks that have yet to be completed. We’re all counting the days down till Friday, trying to rush through all the days in school. What we do not take time to think about is that we woke up breathing. We take for granted that we have another day on this wonderful earth of ours. The thing I take for granted the most is that I get the privilege to receive an education. I am always complaining that school is too hard or too long, but what I do not realize is that other kids do not have the ability to get an education because of certain circumstances. I should be grateful that I am able to learn and become smarter because of school. We get so caught up in life that we take the little things for granted, but it is the little things in life that make it worth living.
Blog Post #2 ~ Childhood Books
My favorite children’s book ever in the history of children’s books is “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. The first time someone ever read it to me was back in 3rd grade at South Knoll. I remember just instantly falling in love with what the book said and the drawings in the book. The drawings were so detailed which made the book even more interesting. I really loved what the books story because it is very sweet and caring. The way my teacher read it was so relaxing to me. This was my favorite book because of the quote in the book that is repeated, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be”. The one thing I vividly remember about the book is at the very end the son is now taking care of his own child and starts saying the quote that his mother would always say to him to his daughter. I do not have a copy of the book, but I wish I did. Since I do not have a copy of the book I don’t read it very much.
Blog Post #1 ~ Past, Present, Future
The summer of 2015 my youngest sister was born. This was an exciting moment for my family and I. Another important event that has happened to me in the past is my grandma’s passing. It happened last year towards the end of the school year. It was not easy, especially for my mom but we got through it. I was born in Bryan, Texas but grew up in College Station my whole life. I have gone to elementary school, intermediate school, middle school and now high school here in College Station.
I am now 15 and a sophomore in high school. I enjoy photography and playing soccer. Photography is something I have enjoyed for a while now, it is very fun for me and a way for me to relax. I have been playing soccer for about 4 years now and it has been awesome. Last year was my first year playing high school soccer and it was not easy but I managed to pull through. I was on JV and it was so much fun, we beat CSHS! Hopefully this year I can make the team again.
Hopefully, in the future, I am working my dream job, and have a wonderful family. After high school, I hope to go to college and graduate. I hope I get my dream job which is becoming a NICU nurse. My goal is to buy my own house and my own car. I would like to travel out of the country, especially to Bora Bora. It has always been a dream of mine to go there. Most importantly I hope to be a very successful person.
